DfT Street Manager Update – New Roadmap

Published: 29 July 2025

The Department for Transport’s Street Manager governance group has released an updated Roadmap for Street Manager, outlining key developments and future priorities for the platform.

Key Developments

  • Non-Compliance Improvements
The Street Manager team is currently progressing a series of improvements aimed at addressing non-compliance, working closely with SMEs to ensure practical and effective solutions. A non-compliance webinar is planned for after the summer holidays, with further details to be shared in due course.
  • Digital Traffic Orders Integration
A new addition to the Roadmap includes plans to explore integration between Street Manager, the Digital Traffic Regulation Orders (D-TRO) platform, and the National Underground Asset Register (NUAR). This integration could enable the combination of start and stop data from Street Manager with Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders (TTROs), providing road users with more accurate and timely information on road closures.
  • Response to the Transport Select Committee
The Department is preparing a formal response to the Transport Select Committee’s recent report on managing the impact of street works. This response is due within two months, and some of the committee’s recommendations may inform future development of the Street Manager service.
